Artist's Description
This regal Mermaid was inspired by a visit to the Archeological Museum in Monterrey Mexico in November of 2021, where I saw a collection of beautifully carved vintage religious heads. I took that the idea of those lovely forms and turned one of them into an African Mermaid Queen. I painted her in Ixtapa, Guerrero, Mexico in January of 2022.
